Bookkeeping

  • Record all sales invoices for the month
  • Record all purchase invoices and expense bills
  • Reconcile every bank account
  • Reconcile cash balance against the cash book
  • Review outstanding receivables and payables

GST

  • Reconcile purchases against GSTR-2B
  • Flag suppliers who have not filed, and chase them
  • File GSTR-1 with complete outward supply detail
  • File GSTR-3B and pay the net liability
  • Confirm e-way bills were raised where required
  • Verify e-invoicing compliance, if applicable to your turnover

TDS & payroll

  • Identify payments attracting TDS this month
  • Deposit TDS by the monthly due date
  • Process payroll and issue payslips
  • Deposit PF and ESI contributions
  • Keep the deductee register updated for quarterly returns

Review

  • Review the month's profit and loss against budget
  • Check the cash flow position for the next 60 days
  • Confirm no statutory notice has gone unanswered
  • Diarise anything due in the coming month
  • File the month's documents so year-end is not a scramble
